Cosmetic Acupuncture works!

When I talk with people about Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture, I tell them that people will say things like "do you have a new hair style?" or "you look great, what are you doing?" or "you look like you've lost weight", "you're not as tired as I've seen you"  etc. etc.  They would never say "have you had a facelift?"  Well, I have been doing the Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture protocol on my myself for the last 3 weeks; I'm doing the complete 5 week long protocol.  A few of my patients and my MT have made comments just like those above and I would accept them but then wonder why all of the sudden they're making comments like that.  Of course!  It's because I'm doing Mei Zen. Cosmetic acupuncture works!

Insurance billing: As a service to you, we find out whether or not your health insurance covers acupuncture and when it does we bill your insurance.  There are plans that cover it, some pay for unlimited visits.  Why not be healthier?  That's what the insurance company realizes - preventing surgeries, the use of expensive pain killers, and your having to have medical procedures saves them (and you!) money.  And even preventing the common cold saves your employer money.

The difference between professionals who practice acupuncture

I have to share this because I think it was a very big step for TCM Directory to only include Licensed Acupuncturists (DOMs, OMDs, APs), those who received 4 years of full time training in Chinese Medicine, in their directory and referral list. There are a lot of versions of acupuncture "practitioners" out there and it is therefore recommended that you check out your practitioners credentials and their theory of treatment before signing up for treatment.

"My pulses were purring" ... that's how balance feels. Come get some.

I just started treating a SWAC (SW Acupuncture College) student who told me that her "pulses were purring after the treatment".  This is how balance feels and she knows it.  Stress wrecks the body.  The hormones and adrenaline that stress cranks up create raised blood pressure, heart rate, and cortisol that causes inflammation.  Not a pretty picture.  Cortisol further makes muscles and bones lose mass, weakens the immune system, makes our sleep less restful, and if that's not enough it can also reduce our cognitive ability.

Acupuncture creates balance; it minimizes the effect of stress on your body.  Come get it!

Having problems with sleep? Acupuncture works!

According to research, acupuncture helps you sleep well due to the way it affects your brain as reported on http://www.healthcmi.com.

Acupuncture significantly increases slow wave activity of the brain relative to fast wave activity in both the frontal and central lobes. This phenomena is known to benefit the quality and duration of sleep. There were also increases in the delta band power in five major brain areas during and after acupuncture.
The researchers note that “acupuncture can induce obvious changes in different EEG rhythms in healthy subjects. They also note that acupuncture modulations of brain activity resulting from acupuncture point stimulation show that the  brain plays a key role in acupuncture research. They also suggest that cortical electrical activities may be an important mechanism by which acupuncture exerts its complex multisystem effects.
