Now, as you have seen in other blogs that I written, these patients received acupuncture every day while they were also doing PT. The theory is:
- if you want to heal better and faster you need frequent treatment.
I am opposed to the once-a-week acupuncture model especially for conditions like recovering from surgery. In my practice, once a week is for when your body is responding/healing well and we are weaning down from 2 or 3 times a week treatment. Then, after your body has completely taken over healing and balance, I'll see you once a month or once a season. The whole goal of acupuncture/Chinese medicine is to help your body heal itself and stay that way! It's not to make you come every week for the rest of your life.
Hey! I LOVE to receive acupuncture at least every other week but that's my choice and how I believe that I am aging better than some, can continue my athletic endeavors despite back issues, knee and foot surgeries, making me hardly know that I've had a 55 year history of asthma, etc.
