Has sex become a chore, you're upset or tired about that and want finally to talk about it? You CAN and should!

Has sex become a chore, you're upset or tired about that and want finally to talk about it?  You CAN and should! My new book is a compilation of interviews with women about this topic along with the science of it from modern medicine, Chinese medicine, and psychosocial reasoning. The research scientist (my Ph.D.) in me wants to find out how, why, what we can do about it, etc. The interviews I've held so far have so enlightening, inspiring, and have made me feel so grateful that women are willing to share with me what's on their minds.

We need to talk about it. One woman told me that "actually chore isn't the right word ... ordeal is more like it". Many women love the title "Sex Sucks" because it does and it shouldn't or we want to know why!
If your friends, women in your family, etc. talk about this, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST with them. I will be happy to send them the questions or interview them via phone.
I have been practicing Chinese medicine for more than 15 years and want to help women everywhere understand this epidemic! So if you are having the experience that you're too tired, it's a chore - just another thing to put on your list, you're too depressed or just don't feel like it, let’s talk.
The women whom I have already interviewed were so grateful to be able to talk about this issue because society still puts pressure on us to be interested in sex all the time and to just not talk about it or admit it if we're not. Men get to talk about their ED all the time, they have commercials about it for goodness sake - it's an issue for men and it is getting attention so that it can be dealt with! We have that same right.
HERE'S WHAT WOMEN ARE SAYING:
"I feel like my prayers have been answered. Just answering the questions and sharing this burden has been insightful and healing".
Let me open up conversation and help explain a phenomenon that many women, including myself, have experienced - lack of interest and feeling that sex is just not that important in life anymore. In fact for some women it just feels like a relationship chore.
And, if the topic doesn’t pertain to you please SHARE this because believe me, there are women out there who want to share in a confidential atmosphere.
You may call me (303-947-6224), email me (DrMLucas@AcupunctureWoman.com), we can Skype, or meet in person. The important thing is that we get to talk about it.

You CAN smell the roses even with allergies because acupuncture works for that.

You CAN smell the roses even with allergies because acupuncture works for that.

The Academy of Otolaryngology says that 1 in 6 of us are affected by allergies and suffer from stuffy, drippy noses, itchy eyes and skin, even coughs.  It seems like more than that to me because in my 15 years of Chinese medicine healing I have seen many many people with allergies. There seem to be more every year.
And the drug world is confusing and not very satisfying. Antihistamines don't help with stuffiness but they can help with itchiness. Decongestants are good for stuffiness but don't treat itching. There are steroid nasal sprays out there but people generally try to avoid the use of steroids. In fact, ALL of those treatments only try to treat the symptoms. In Chinese medicine we look for the root (cause) of your symptoms and treat that so that your body can be healthier and you can be happier.
So, if you are looking for a non pharmacological treatment, acupuncture would be it. Additionally, there are herbal formulas that I have found to work really well to treat allergies.

Here’s what people are saying about Dr. Martha Lucas, L.Ac. who for over 15 years has been using Chinese medicine to help people feel and look better:
Best in Denver: I have been to several other practitioners over the course of 9 years and Dr. Lucas is the best acupuncturist in Denver!

What a life saver!: After getting a full work up from a neurologist and being prescribed medications that we were uncomfortable giving our child, we were referred to Dr. Lucas. What a life saver! Our daughter is now feeling much relief and is able to go about her days. We couldn’t be happier with the treatments and Dr. Lucas’ willingness to explain everything.

Sinuses: My sinuses were a mess. But after the needles and Dr. Lucas did their work I’m much, much better!

She gets results! - I’ve been seeing Dr. Lucas for about 5 years for all kinds of needs. I HIGHLY recommend her services! She’s great, knowledgable, and gets results.

Results surpass those of western medicine: I have been getting great results from Martha’s work. I am a disabled vet and her work has surpassed much of the regular western medicine I have experienced. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Gentle with the needles: I have been seeing Dr. Lucas for a bout 3 years. I love and feel a sense of calmness after each session. She is very gentle with the needles and can tell when you are not doing well through her your pulses (pulse diagnosis is her specialty). I highly recommend going to her for everything; it is well worth it. She is a very compassionate person.

From Dr. Lucas - WHY AM I ABLE TO GET YOU SUCH GOOD RESULTS?  Because I can give you an expert diagnosis to determine the cause of your symptoms or disease and then TREAT IT!
Chinese medicine treatment works best when your practitioner KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A DIAGNOSIS. Take it from someone who teaches Chinese medicine students from all over the world - the proper diagnosis leads to more effective treatment.

On the other hand - got good health?  Acupuncture/Chinese medicine works to maintain that.  But if you don't feel the best that you can or as good as you think you should, call me at 303-947-6224 or email me DrMLucas@AcupunctureWoman.com.  Even though I feel great, I receive acupuncture every other week whether I need it or not ….

Bio: Dr. Martha Lucas, L.Ac. is an internationally recognized expert in Chinese medicine for pulse diagnosis (internal medicine and emotional health issues) and Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture.  She can be reached at DrMLucas@AcupunctureWoman.com or 303-947-6224. "I specialize in 3 things because I believe that it is important to have focus in order to do your best work and get people back on track quickly.  I want to help you have babies and excellent women's health, get you out playing basketball or football or in that triathlon sooner and stronger, and keep your skin looking its best!!!"

INSURANCE BILLING:

That's what the insurance company realizes - preventing surgeries, the use of expensive pain killers, and your having to have medical procedures saves them (and you!) money.  Even preventing the common cold saves your employer money.

Perimenopause .... a passage, a move forward; don't look back. And Acupuncture works for the transition!

Perimenopause is a passage to a new experience forward. But, it generally comes w/ some interesting physical and emotional feelings.

A recent study demonstrated AGAIN that acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for perimenopause due to the treatments'  effect on our biochemistry. If you are or you have experienced perimenopause, you know that it can last for a few years(!) and can include hot flashes, night sweats, reduced libido and lubrication, worse PMS than usual, anxiety, depression .... the list goes on.  Researchers at two universities in China have noted that acupuncture regulates the hypothalamic pituitary ovarian axis, serum estradiol levels, FSH, and LH levels. This is why acupuncture also works for PMS, cramps, reproductive challenges etc. Acupuncture benefits can even include increased estrogen levels and the transformation of androgen into estrogen via these hormonal pathways and shifts.

Please take loving care of your dogs!

Hi Everyone,

It's a little hard to see but in the lower left corner of this window is the dog that bit my husband on Memorial Day and that Denver Animal Control has not been able to secure since the owners won't answer the door. Now, I do feel really sorry for my husband who was in pain, has had to have hand surgery (that will probably partly wreck our vacation in Moab soon) but I also feel really sorry for this dog. Look how sad it looks! It's a German Shepherd puppy (a year old) and needs to run and NOT be cooped up in a condo all day. Poor thing - it's a ground floor row house unit so he can see people all day. A UPS driver whom I bumped into knew immediately which dog I was talking about. She said it lunges at her all the time. Plus, the parkway in front of and on the sides of their unit is full of dog poop. Bad owners!!!! They can't even be called "caretakers" instead of owners because they clearly don't care about their dog OR the human beings that it bites. The owner yelled at my 68 old bleeding husband and didn't offer to help one bit. My husband didn't have his cell phone with him so had to walk home (only 2 blocks) and call 911 to get treated. I wish Denver Animal Control could seize it and get it a better home.
